ADHD Support at ReadyKids — Across QLD

Children with ADHD and attention difficulties often experience challenges with fine motor control and handwriting, which can impact their learning and confidence at school. ReadyKids supports these areas through targeted occupational therapy interventions tailored to each child's needs. Fine motor work at ReadyKids might include activities like threading beads, using tweezers to pick up small objects, or manipulating playdough to build hand strength and coordination—skills that underpin neat handwriting and classroom tasks. Handwriting support focuses on letter formation, pencil grip, and writing stamina, with ReadyKids therapists using strategies such as pre-writing exercises, adaptive pencil grips, and multi-sensory letter practice to make writing more manageable and enjoyable. These services can be funded through NDIS plans (2025-26 funding year) if your child has an approved plan, or accessed privately. While occupational therapists cannot diagnose ADHD, they work effectively with children who have received a diagnosis, addressing the motor and functional difficulties that often accompany attention challenges.
