Why this exists
I'm Davis Grainger. I'm a Brisbane dad of two-year-old twins.
In late 2025, my wife and I started looking for a paediatric occupational therapist for one of our kids. What we expected to be a phone call or two turned into weeks of dialling around. Six clinics, six waitlists, no clear sense of which were realistic. The NDIS register listed thousands of providers with no way to know who was actually accepting new clients. Healthengine was paywalled. Carevo would "match" us if we filled out a form and waited 24 to 48 hours.
We just wanted to know: who has capacity, this week, near us?
I built OTWaitlist to answer that question for other Australian families.
What it is
OTWaitlist lists every paediatric OT clinic I've been able to identify in Australia, sourced from public NDIS records and clinic websites. For each clinic we track availability when we can verify it — when it was last checked, how confident we are in the data, and where the information came from. Clinics can claim their listing for free and update their own availability in real time.
We don't sell appointments. We don't take referral fees from families. We don't pay for placement. We're a directory built to surface real-time availability — nothing more.
For the full detail on where listings come from, what each availability label means, and the honest limits of the data, see how we check our data.
What we won't do
This is a YMYL ("your money or your life") site under Australian regulatory frameworks (AHPRA Section 133, NDIS Commission). We take the obligations seriously:
- We don't claim clinics are "vetted", "trusted", or "endorsed" unless we have verified them by a specific method on a specific date. We use plain language: "listed", "self-reported", "last checked".
- We don't provide medical advice. For any concern about your child, speak with your GP, paediatrician, or qualified clinician.
- We don't take testimonials about specific clinics — Section 133 prohibits this for regulated health practitioners.
- Clinics can request takedown of their listing at any time.
