Understanding NDIS OT rates

The $193.99 hourly rate is the standard NDIS Pricing Arrangement for occupational therapy delivered face-to-face. This rate applies whether your child is seen in a clinic, at home, or at school, provided the therapist is NDIS-registered. The rate covers direct therapy time with your child.

Additional NDIS charges

Beyond the hourly therapy rate, you may be charged for:

• <strong>Travel costs:</strong> If your OT travels to your home or school, travel time is charged at $48.50 per 15 minutes (2025–26 rate), depending on distance and your plan's travel provisions.
• <strong>Non-face-to-face activities:</strong> Planning, report writing, phone calls with schools or other services are charged at $48.50 per 15 minutes.
• <strong>Assessment reports:</strong> Formal assessment reports requested outside standard therapy time are typically charged at the non-face-to-face rate and can total $800–$2,000 for comprehensive assessments.

Checking your plan

Your NDIS plan letter shows:

• Total annual hours of occupational therapy funded (usually in the Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living budget)
• Whether travel is included in your funding or charged separately
• Any restrictions on where therapy can be delivered (e.g., home-based only, centre-based only)

Finding NDIS providers

Not all occupational therapists accept NDIS funding. Use the NDIS Provider Finder on the NDIS website to locate registered providers in your area.
