OTWaitlist Open Data

Paediatric OT availability data for Australia

This is the open dataset behind OTWaitlist: a snapshot of self-reported paediatric occupational therapy clinic availability across Australia. It is free to download and reuse, under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. The current snapshot covers 891 clinics across 344 suburbs.

Last rebuilt 2026-06-29.

What's in it

Each row describes one clinic. The columns, in plain words:

  • clinic_name — the name of the clinic
  • suburb, state, postcode — where the clinic is located
  • city_group — the wider city region the suburb sits in (e.g. Greater Brisbane), where we have it
  • availability_status — whether the clinic is taking new clients, has a short, medium or long waitlist, is closed, or is unconfirmed
  • wait_time_min_weeks, wait_time_max_weeks — the self-reported wait band in weeks, where a clinic has given one
  • accepts_ndis, ndis_registered — whether the clinic accepts NDIS and whether it is registered
  • telehealth_available, home_visits_available — whether the clinic offers telehealth or home visits
  • last_checked — the date the listing was last checked (YYYY-MM-DD), blank if we have not checked it
  • availability_source — how the availability was sourced (clinic confirmed, public website, register, and so on)
  • availability_confidence — how confident we are in the current status
  • profile_url — a link to the clinic’s OTWaitlist listing

The dataset contains only listing and availability details. It carries no personal contact details, no street addresses, and no clinic owner names.

How the data is collected, and its limits

Most of the data is self-reported by clinics or drawn from public sources. Availability and wait times come from clinics confirming their status with us, from clinics' own public websites, and from public registers. The last_checked column tells you how recent each row is, and availability_source tells you where it came from.

This is a snapshot of the clinics we track, not a census of every paediatric OT clinic in Australia. Many rows have an unconfirmed status, and wait times are self-reported, usually as a range, and can change at any time. Region summaries in the wait-times index always state the number of clinics each figure is based on, so a small sample is visible rather than hidden. For the full picture of where our listings come from, see how we check our data.

This dataset is for information only. It is not medical advice. For questions about your child's care, speak to your GP, paediatrician, or treating clinician.

Who maintains it

OTWaitlist is a free directory of paediatric occupational therapy clinics in Australia, maintained by Davis Grainger, trading as OTWaitlist — a sole trader based in Brisbane (ABN 75 592 903 962). The dataset is rebuilt from current records on each site update.
