Early intervention Support at Advantage Therapy — Across NSW

Early childhood is a critical period for developing sensory processing skills, which form the foundation for learning, play, and everyday activities. Advantage Therapy supports children with sensory processing difficulties through tailored occupational therapy interventions designed to help them process and respond to sensory information more effectively. Sensory processing work at Advantage Therapy may include activities such as using sensory swings or body socks to provide calming input, engaging in fine-motor exercises like threading beads or playdough manipulation to build hand strength and coordination, and participating in structured play activities that gradually expose children to different textures, sounds, and movements. These interventions help children develop better self-regulation, improve their ability to focus during learning activities, and increase confidence in social situations. It's important to note that occupational therapists cannot diagnose conditions like autism or sensory processing disorder—diagnosis comes from medical professionals—but Advantage Therapy can assess how sensory challenges affect your child's development and daily functioning. Families may be eligible for NDIS funding to support these services under the 2025–26 scheme, depending on their child's circumstances and plan eligibility.
