Early childhood development relies on a child's ability to process and respond to sensory information from their environment. All Things Therapy supports children with sensory processing differences through occupational therapy tailored to each child's unique needs. Sensory processing work helps children develop better body awareness, coordination, and confidence in everyday activities. At All Things Therapy, interventions might include activities such as using sensory swings or trampolines to help children regulate their responses to movement, working with textured materials during play-based activities to build tolerance for different tactile experiences, and practising fine-motor tasks like threading or painting that strengthen hand control. These activities are woven into play rather than formal exercises, making them engaging for young learners. Early intervention during the crucial developmental years can support children in building foundational skills for school readiness and social participation. If your child may be eligible for NDIS funding (2025–26), All Things Therapy can discuss how therapy costs might be covered through your plan. It's important to note that occupational therapists cannot diagnose conditions such as autism or sensory processing disorder—diagnosis comes from medical professionals—but OTs can identify developmental areas where support would help and work collaboratively with your child's healthcare team.
