Autism Support at Believe and Achieve Paediatric Therapy — Across NSW

Children with autism spectrum disorder often experience differences in how they process sensory information—such as sounds, textures, movement, and touch. Believe and Achieve Paediatric Therapy offers sensory processing support to help children develop better awareness of their body and environment, and to build coping strategies for sensory challenges. Our occupational therapists work with each child to identify their sensory preferences and sensitivities, then design tailored activities to support their comfort and engagement. Examples include using a sensory swing or body sock to provide calming input, working with weighted equipment like lap pads or vests to improve focus during daily tasks, and practising fine-motor activities such as threading, playdough work, or scissor skills in a structured, low-pressure setting. These interventions can help children feel more settled at home, school, and in the community. Many families access occupational therapy through NDIS funding; Believe and Achieve Paediatric Therapy can discuss eligibility and support pathways during your initial consultation. Please note that occupational therapists do not diagnose autism or sensory processing disorder—diagnosis comes from medical professionals—but we can certainly support children who have received a diagnosis.
