Chatterbox Speech Therapy & Occupational Therapy supports children with autism spectrum disorder through tailored occupational therapy interventions designed to address sensory processing, motor skills, and daily living activities. Our occupational therapists work with each child's individual strengths and challenges to build confidence and independence. Sensory-based activities—such as work with weighted blankets, resistance exercises, and controlled sensory input through play—help children regulate their responses to environmental stimuli. Fine motor activities, including threading, cutting, and handwriting practice, support the development of skills needed for school and self-care tasks. Visual supports and structured routines are integrated into sessions to aid understanding and reduce anxiety around transitions. At Chatterbox Speech Therapy & Occupational Therapy, we also address self-regulation strategies and social participation in everyday contexts. While occupational therapy cannot diagnose autism spectrum disorder, it plays an important role in managing sensory and motor difficulties that often co-occur.
