Children with sensory processing disorder often struggle to regulate their responses to everyday sensations—sounds, textures, movement, and touch can feel overwhelming or underwhelming. Health2GO's occupational therapy services address these challenges through two key areas. Our sensory processing support helps children develop better awareness and control of their responses, using tailored activities like working with sensory swings, weighted blankets, or textured play materials to help them feel calmer and more organised. Fine motor work complements this by building the hand strength and coordination needed for daily tasks—writing, dressing, and eating—which can be significantly affected when sensory systems aren't functioning optimally. For example, a child might use therapy putty exercises to strengthen finger muscles while simultaneously experiencing calming tactile input. Health2GO's occupational therapists work collaboratively with families to create strategies that extend beyond the clinic into home and school environments. It's important to note that occupational therapists cannot diagnose sensory processing disorder; however, we can identify sensory challenges and support your child's development through evidence-based intervention.
