ADHD Support at Hope Kids OT — Across VIC

Hope Kids OT supports children with ADHD and attention difficulties through three interconnected service areas. Our ADHD support focuses on developing strategies for attention regulation, impulse control, and executive function skills tailored to each child's needs. Sensory processing work addresses how children process and respond to sensory input—many children with attention difficulties benefit from sensory-based activities like using a sensory swing or weighted lap pad to help organise their nervous system and improve focus. Fine motor interventions build the hand strength and coordination needed for writing, drawing, and self-care tasks, which can feel overwhelming for children with attention challenges. For example, Hope Kids OT might use fidget tools during tabletop activities, incorporate movement breaks with resistance exercises, or practise pencil grip through engaging craft projects. These services work together to help children develop better self-regulation and participation in daily activities. If you're accessing NDIS funding, our team can discuss how these services may be covered under your child's plan for the 2025-26 funding year. We recommend consulting with your child's GP or paediatrician regarding formal diagnosis, as occupational therapists cannot diagnose ADHD or other conditions.
