Kids Connect Therapy in Across supports children with sensory processing difficulties through tailored occupational therapy that addresses how their nervous system responds to everyday sensations. Sensory processing work helps children who find certain sounds, textures, movements or lights overwhelming or underwhelming. At Kids Connect Therapy, interventions might include activities such as using sensory swings or body socks to help children regulate their responses to movement and touch, working with weighted equipment like lap pads or vests to provide calming input, and engaging in fine-motor activities that build confidence with everyday tasks like dressing or eating. An occupational therapist cannot diagnose sensory processing disorder, but can identify sensory sensitivities and work collaboratively with families and other professionals to support the child's participation at home, school and in the community. If your child is eligible for NDIS funding in the 2025–26 financial year, Kids Connect Therapy can discuss how occupational therapy services may be covered under your plan.
