Kindred Paediatric Occupational Therapy supports these difficulties through tailored sensory processing interventions designed to help children develop better self-regulation and attention skills. Sensory activities might include using weighted blankets or vests to provide calming input, engaging with a sensory swing to improve body awareness and vestibular function, or participating in fine-motor activities like threading beads or using adaptive scissors to build concentration and hand-eye coordination. Our occupational therapists also create personalised sensory diets—structured routines of sensory activities throughout the day—to help children maintain optimal alertness for learning and play. These interventions work alongside environmental modifications, such as reducing visual clutter or adjusting lighting, to minimise sensory distractions. If you have NDIS funding, Kindred Paediatric Occupational Therapy is registered to support eligible participants, and sensory processing support can be incorporated into your child's plan for the 2025-26 funding year. Our therapists work collaboratively with families and schools to ensure strategies are practical and sustainable across different settings.
