ADHD Support at More Than Able Therapy — Across WA

Children with ADHD often experience challenges with sensory processing and fine motor control, which can impact their ability to focus, organise tasks, and participate in daily activities. More Than Able Therapy addresses these interconnected areas through targeted occupational therapy support. Sensory processing work helps children regulate their nervous system and improve attention—for example, using weighted blankets or sensory bins during sessions can help calm an overactive system, whilst movement-based activities like balance beam work or trampoline play can energise children who need additional input. Fine motor interventions support handwriting, self-care tasks, and classroom participation; More Than Able Therapy uses activities such as threading, scissor skills practice, and pencil grip exercises to build the motor control needed for sustained attention during schoolwork. These services work together to create a foundation for better focus and self-regulation. Families may be eligible for NDIS funding to support therapy costs in 2025–26, depending on their circumstances. An occupational therapist can assess how sensory and motor difficulties may be contributing to attention challenges, though they cannot diagnose ADHD or other conditions—this requires assessment by a medical professional.
