Developmental delay Support at National 360 — Across NSW
National 360 in Across NSW lists services that overlap with paediatric occupational therapy for developmental delay.
Services National 360 offers for developmental delay
National 360 provides early intervention services designed to support children experiencing developmental delay across key areas including motor skills, communication, self-care, and play abilities. Through early intervention, our occupational therapists work with children and families to identify areas where development may be progressing differently and implement strategies to support progress. At National 360, we use evidence-based activities tailored to each child's needs—such as fine-motor exercises using threading, puzzles, and scissor work to build hand strength and coordination; sensory play activities including water play and textured materials to develop sensory processing; and structured play routines that encourage social engagement and learning. We also support families by teaching strategies to embed developmental opportunities into everyday routines at home. Early intervention services can be funded through the NDIS (2025-26 funding year) for eligible children, helping families access support during these critical developmental periods. Our team works collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure consistent, coordinated support for your child's development.

About developmental delay
Developmental delay describes when a child has not yet reached one or more developmental milestones in the expected timeframe. It is a description, not a single diagnosis.

Common questions
How do I know if my child needs early intervention support?
If you've noticed your child is developing differently in areas like movement, fine motor skills, self-care, play, or communication compared to peers, early intervention may help. National 360 can discuss your observations and determine whether an occupational therapy assessment would be beneficial. Early support can make a meaningful difference during these formative years.
Can occupational therapy diagnose conditions like autism or developmental delay?
Occupational therapists cannot diagnose autism, ADHD, or specific developmental conditions—that requires a medical professional or psychologist. However, National 360's occupational therapists can assess how developmental differences affect your child's everyday functioning and provide targeted support to build skills and independence.
Can we access early intervention through the NDIS?
Many children with developmental delay can access early intervention services through NDIS funding in the 2025-26 funding year if they meet eligibility criteria. We recommend contacting the NDIS directly or speaking with National 360 about whether your child may qualify and how to begin the process.
