Early intervention Support at Nest Health Hub — Across NSW

Early childhood is a critical time for developing sensory processing skills, which form the foundation for learning, play, and everyday activities. At Nest Health Hub, our occupational therapists support children with sensory processing difficulties through tailored interventions designed to help them better understand and respond to sensory information from their environment. Sensory processing work might include activities such as using sensory swings or body socks to provide calming input, engaging in fine-motor play with textured materials like kinetic sand or threading activities, and practising graded exposure to different textures and sounds in a safe, supportive setting. These interventions help children develop confidence and self-regulation skills. If your child may be eligible for NDIS funding, Nest Health Hub can work with you to explore how allied health services might be supported under the 2025–26 funding arrangements. It's important to note that occupational therapists cannot diagnose conditions such as autism or sensory processing disorder; however, they can identify sensory sensitivities and support your child's development through evidence-based practice.
