Autism Support at Nurtured Paediatrics — Across SA

Nurtured Paediatrics offers early intervention occupational therapy services designed to support children with autism spectrum disorder during crucial developmental years. Early intervention focuses on building foundational skills in sensory processing, communication, social interaction, and daily living tasks before school entry or during the early school years. At Nurtured Paediatrics, therapists work with children through tailored activities such as sensory motor circuits (using climbing equipment, balance beams, and tactile stations) to help regulate sensory input, fine-motor skill development through play-based activities like threading, cutting, and handwriting preparation, and structured visual supports to aid transitions and communication. These interventions are delivered in a child-centred, play-based approach that respects each child's individual needs and learning style. Early intervention can help children develop greater independence, improve participation in family and community activities, and build confidence during formative years. Many families access these services through NDIS funding (2025–26 pricing structures apply where eligible). While occupational therapists cannot diagnose autism, they work collaboratively with families and other professionals to address functional goals and support overall development.
