ADHD Support at Physio Inq — Across VIC

Children with ADHD often experience sensory processing difficulties that can affect their ability to focus, regulate emotions, and participate in daily activities. At Physio Inq in Across, our occupational therapists work with sensory processing to help children develop better self-regulation and attention skills. Through tailored sensory interventions, we help children understand and respond more effectively to sensory input from their environment. For example, we might use sensory swings or weighted equipment to provide calming input that helps a child settle before learning activities, or incorporate movement breaks and proprioceptive activities (like pushing/pulling games) to support focus during tasks. Fine motor activities and hand strength exercises can also improve pencil control and written work completion—common challenges for children with attention difficulties. Physio Inq is registered with the NDIS, meaning many families can access these services through NDIS plans (2025-26 funding arrangements). Our occupational therapists work collaboratively with families and schools to create strategies that support attention and participation both in the clinic and at home, recognising that sensory regulation is often foundational to managing attention challenges.
