ADHD Support at Steps OTkids — Across VIC

Children with ADHD often experience difficulties with sensory processing, fine motor control, and attention regulation—areas where occupational therapy can provide meaningful support. At Steps OTkids, our therapists work with children to develop strategies that help them manage sensory input, improve focus, and build confidence in daily tasks. Sensory processing work might include activities like using weighted blankets or vests to promote calm, or engaging with movement-based activities such as balance beam work to help organise their nervous system. Fine motor interventions focus on strengthening hand control through play-based exercises, which supports both writing skills and self-regulation. Handwriting support addresses the physical and cognitive demands of writing, often a significant challenge for children with attention difficulties. Steps OTkids tailors each approach to your child's individual needs, working collaboratively with families and schools. Many families access occupational therapy through NDIS funding; we encourage you to discuss your child's eligibility and support plan with us. Our therapists cannot diagnose ADHD or other conditions, but we can identify and address the underlying skill gaps that affect your child's participation at home and school.
