Early intervention Support at Tashacare — Across VIC

Early childhood development relies on strong foundations in fine motor skills and sensory processing. At Tashacare, our occupational therapists work with children to build these essential abilities through play-based, individualised interventions. Fine motor development—such as grasping, hand strength, and coordination—supports writing readiness, self-care tasks like dressing, and everyday independence. Tashacare uses activities like threading beads, playdough manipulation, and scissor work to strengthen these skills in ways children enjoy. Sensory processing helps children understand and respond appropriately to their environment; difficulties here can affect focus, movement, and emotional regulation. Our team incorporates sensory strategies such as weighted lap pads during tabletop activities, supervised use of sensory swings, and tactile exploration games to help children organise their sensory input. These services complement early intervention approaches and can be funded through the NDIS (2025–26 pricing arrangements apply). While occupational therapy supports development, we don't diagnose conditions like autism or developmental delay—that's a role for your child's doctor or paediatrician. Tashacare collaborates with families and other professionals to ensure your child receives coordinated, holistic support during these critical early years.
