Autism Support at Wonder Kids OT — Across VIC

Wonder Kids OT supports children with autism spectrum disorder through targeted occupational therapy addressing two key areas: autism-related challenges and sensory processing difficulties. Children on the autism spectrum often experience sensory sensitivities and struggle with daily living skills, self-regulation, and social participation. At Wonder Kids OT in Across, our occupational therapists use evidence-based interventions tailored to each child's needs. Sensory processing support might include activities like using a sensory swing to help with vestibular input and body awareness, or working with weighted equipment to improve proprioceptive feedback and calming responses. Fine motor exercises—such as threading activities, scissor skills practice, and handwriting support—help children develop independence in self-care and learning tasks. We also work on visual schedules and environmental modifications to support transitions and daily routines. Many families access Wonder Kids OT services through NDIS funding, with session costs covered under 2025-26 NDIS pricing arrangements. It's important to note that occupational therapists cannot diagnose autism; however, we work collaboratively with your child's existing diagnosis to build practical skills and improve participation in home, school, and community settings.
