Sensory processing Support at Blue Wing Care — Across NSW

Blue Wing Care specialises in sensory processing support for children across NSW, recognising that some children experience challenges with how their bodies process sensory information from their environment. Our occupational therapists work with children who may be over-responsive or under-responsive to sensory input—such as sounds, textures, movement, or touch—which can affect their daily functioning, learning, and social participation. Through our sensory processing service, we use evidence-based strategies tailored to each child's needs. Examples include vestibular activities like sensory swing work to help with balance and body awareness, weighted equipment such as weighted vests or lap pads to provide calming proprioceptive input, and fine-motor sensory activities using different textures and materials to build tolerance and coordination. Blue Wing Care can support families accessing NDIS funding (2025-26) for occupational therapy services, helping to cover the costs of these interventions. It's important to note that occupational therapists cannot diagnose sensory processing disorder, autism, or ADHD—diagnosis comes from medical professionals—but we can identify sensory challenges and implement practical strategies to help children engage more comfortably in everyday activities at home, school, and in the community.
