ADHD Support at Chatterbox — Across NSW

Children with ADHD and attention difficulties often experience challenges with sensory processing and fine motor control, both of which can impact their ability to focus, participate in daily activities, and learn effectively. At Chatterbox, our occupational therapists address these interconnected areas through tailored interventions. Sensory processing support helps children regulate their nervous system and manage distractibility—for example, we might use weighted lap pads or sensory breaks with movement activities to help a child settle before schoolwork. Fine motor therapy builds the hand strength and coordination needed for writing, which can reduce frustration during academic tasks. Activities might include threading exercises, scissor work, or pencil grip strategies that make writing less effortful. These services work together to create an environment where children can concentrate better and engage more successfully with their environment. Chatterbox recognises that attention difficulties often involve sensory and motor components that occupational therapy can meaningfully address. If your child may be eligible for NDIS funding (2025-26), we can discuss how these services might be supported through your plan. An occupational therapist cannot diagnose ADHD, but we can identify and treat the underlying sensory and motor factors that contribute to attention challenges.
