Cloud Nine in Across NSW lists services that overlap with paediatric occupational therapy for early intervention.
Services Cloud Nine offers for early intervention
Early childhood development relies on a child's ability to process and respond to sensory information from their environment. At Cloud Nine, our occupational therapists support children with sensory processing difficulties through tailored activities designed to help them organise and interpret sensory input more effectively. Sensory processing work might include activities such as using a sensory swing to develop vestibular awareness and body coordination, exploring different textures and materials during play-based sessions, or engaging in weighted equipment activities to improve proprioceptive feedback. These interventions help children develop better focus, coordination, and confidence in everyday routines like eating, dressing, and playing with peers. Cloud Nine recognises that early intervention during the developmental years can make a meaningful difference. If your child may be eligible for NDIS support (2025–26 funding year), our team can work with you to identify appropriate goals and activities. Please note that occupational therapists cannot diagnose conditions such as autism or sensory processing disorder; however, we can support children identified through other pathways and help them build foundational skills for learning and participation.

About early intervention
Early childhood is a time of rapid development across play, movement, communication, self-care, and social skills. When concerns about a child's early development arise, paediatric occupational therapy is one of the allied health supports often involved.

Common questions
How do I know if my child needs sensory processing support?
Children with sensory processing difficulties may avoid certain textures, sounds, or movements; seem clumsy or uncoordinated; struggle with transitions; or have trouble focusing. If you've noticed these patterns, speaking with your GP or early childhood educator is a good first step. Cloud Nine can then assess how sensory factors might be affecting your child's development and daily routines.
Can occupational therapy at Cloud Nine diagnose my child's condition?
Occupational therapists cannot diagnose autism, ADHD, or sensory processing disorder. However, if your child has been identified through other pathways (such as by your GP or paediatrician), Cloud Nine can provide targeted support to help them manage sensory challenges and develop skills for everyday activities.
Does Cloud Nine accept NDIS funding?
Cloud Nine's NDIS registration status has not been confirmed. We recommend contacting the clinic directly to discuss funding options, including whether NDIS support may be available for your child's therapy goals and how to proceed with planning.
