Autism Support at Inspire Healthcare — Across NSW

Children with autism spectrum disorder often experience differences in how they process sensory information, which can affect their daily activities, learning, and social participation. Inspire Healthcare's sensory processing support helps children develop better awareness of and responses to sensory input through tailored activities and environmental modifications. Our occupational therapists work with each child to identify their sensory preferences and sensitivities, then design interventions to support their engagement at home, school, and in the community. Examples of activities might include using sensory swings or weighted blankets to provide calming input, practising fine-motor tasks like threading or scissor work to build hand strength and coordination, or creating visual schedules to help children understand transitions and expectations. These interventions can reduce anxiety, improve focus, and support participation in everyday routines. Inspire Healthcare is registered with the NDIS, meaning many families can access funding to support these services under the 2025–26 scheme. Our therapists work collaboratively with families and schools to ensure strategies are consistent and meaningful across different environments. Please note that occupational therapists do not diagnose autism or sensory processing differences; however, we can support children who have received a diagnosis by addressing the functional challenges they experience.
