Inspire Healthcare in Across NSW lists services that overlap with paediatric occupational therapy for early intervention.
Services Inspire Healthcare offers for early intervention
Early childhood development relies on a child's ability to process and respond to sensory information from their environment. At Inspire Healthcare, our occupational therapists support children with sensory processing difficulties through tailored activities designed to help them regulate, organise and engage with the world around them. Sensory processing work might include activities such as using a sensory swing to develop body awareness and vestibular input, working with weighted equipment like lap pads or compression vests to promote calming and focus, or engaging in fine-motor activities such as threading, playdough manipulation and scissor skills to build hand strength and coordination. These interventions help children develop the foundational skills needed for learning, social interaction and daily routines. Inspire Healthcare is registered with the NDIS, meaning eligible families can access funding through the 2025–26 scheme to support these services. Our therapists work collaboratively with families and educators to embed sensory strategies into everyday routines, ensuring children benefit from consistent, meaningful practice across home and community settings.

About early intervention
Early childhood is a time of rapid development across play, movement, communication, self-care, and social skills. When concerns about a child's early development arise, paediatric occupational therapy is one of the allied health supports often involved.

Common questions
Can occupational therapy diagnose sensory processing disorder or autism?
No. Occupational therapists cannot diagnose sensory processing disorder, autism, ADHD or other conditions. However, our therapists at Inspire Healthcare can identify sensory processing difficulties through observation and assessment, and work with you and your child's doctor or paediatrician to support development. We focus on building skills and strategies to help your child thrive.
How does NDIS funding work with Inspire Healthcare?
Inspire Healthcare is NDIS registered, so if your child is NDIS eligible, you can use your plan funding to access our occupational therapy services. We recommend discussing your child's goals with your NDIS planner to ensure sensory processing support is included in your plan. We'll work with you to maximise the benefit of your funding.
What age children do you support with sensory processing?
Inspire Healthcare supports children across early childhood and beyond. Early intervention is valuable, and our therapists tailor sensory activities to suit your child's age, interests and developmental stage. We recommend contacting us to discuss your child's specific needs and how we can help support their development.
