Autism Support at Kids Can! OT — Across QLD

Children with autism spectrum disorder often experience differences in sensory processing and fine motor development, which can impact daily activities like eating, writing, and self-care. Kids Can! OT supports these areas through targeted interventions tailored to each child's needs. Sensory processing work helps children regulate their responses to sights, sounds, textures, and movement—for example, using sensory swings or weighted equipment to promote calm and focus, or introducing graded exposure to different textures during play-based activities. Fine motor support addresses skills like pencil grip, scissor use, and hand coordination through structured exercises and functional activities. At Kids Can! OT, our occupational therapists work collaboratively with families to identify which strategies work best for your child in their home and school environments. While occupational therapists cannot diagnose autism spectrum disorder, we can assess how sensory and motor differences affect participation in everyday routines. Many families access these services through NDIS funding (2025-26 pricing arrangements apply where eligible).
