ADHD Support at Northside Speech Pathology — Across NSW

Children with ADHD and attention difficulties often experience challenges with sensory processing and fine motor coordination, which can impact their ability to focus, regulate emotions, and complete daily tasks. At Northside Speech Pathology, our occupational therapy approach addresses these underlying areas to support better attention and self-regulation. Through sensory processing work, we help children develop awareness of their body in space and manage sensory input—for example, using weighted equipment during structured activities or incorporating movement breaks with sensory tools to help reset focus before learning tasks. Fine motor interventions target hand strength and coordination, which supports pencil control and written work, reducing frustration during school activities. We also use visual schedules and environmental modifications to create predictable routines that support attention span. While we cannot diagnose ADHD or sensory processing disorder, Northside Speech Pathology works collaboratively with families and other professionals to address the functional difficulties children experience. Many families access our services through NDIS funding (2025-26 pricing structures apply where eligible), though we also support families exploring other funding options. Our goal is to build skills and strategies that help children engage more successfully at home, school, and in the community.
