Autism Support at Physio Inq — Across NSW

Physio Inq supports children with autism spectrum disorder through tailored occupational therapy that addresses the sensory and daily living challenges many autistic children experience. Our autism service focuses on helping children develop skills for school, home, and social environments, whilst our sensory processing support recognises that many autistic children experience the world differently—finding certain sounds, textures, or movements overwhelming or underwhelming. At Physio Inq, we use evidence-based strategies including sensory diet activities (such as weighted blanket use and proprioceptive input through resistance exercises), fine motor skill development through play-based tasks like threading or scissor work, and environmental modifications to reduce sensory triggers. We also support transition planning, social communication through structured activities, and self-regulation techniques tailored to each child's needs. Many families access Physio Inq's services through NDIS funding, which can cover occupational therapy supports under capacity building or core supports in the 2025-26 scheme. Our occupational therapists work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to create meaningful change in your child's everyday life. Please note that occupational therapists cannot diagnose autism spectrum disorder; however, we can support children who have received a diagnosis.
