Early intervention Support at Roaming Therapy — Across VIC

Early childhood is a critical time for developing sensory processing skills, which form the foundation for learning, play, and everyday functioning. At Roaming Therapy in Across, our occupational therapists support children's sensory development through tailored interventions that help them process and respond to sensory information more effectively. Sensory processing difficulties can affect how children engage with their environment, manage transitions, and participate in daily routines. Through activities such as sensory play stations using different textures and materials, movement-based activities on therapy equipment like balance beams or stepping stones, and fine-motor tasks involving playdough or threading activities, we help children build confidence and skills. Roaming Therapy works with families to understand each child's unique sensory profile and create strategies that support development across home and community settings. While occupational therapists cannot diagnose conditions such as autism or sensory processing disorder, we can identify sensory processing patterns and recommend evidence-informed strategies. Families may be eligible for NDIS funding (2025-26) to support these services, and we encourage you to discuss funding options during your initial consultation.
