Early intervention Support at The Speech & OT Centre — Across NSW

The Speech & OT Centre supports children with sensory processing needs through targeted occupational therapy interventions designed to help them better understand and respond to sensory information from their environment. Sensory processing work at The Speech & OT Centre may include activities such as using sensory swings or body socks to provide calming input, engaging in fine-motor activities like threading beads or playdough manipulation to build hand strength and coordination, and creating structured play routines that gradually expose children to different textures and movements. These interventions help children develop confidence, improve their ability to participate in everyday routines, and support their readiness for learning. If your child may be eligible for NDIS funding in the 2025-26 financial year, occupational therapy services can be included in your plan to support early intervention goals. It's important to note that occupational therapists cannot diagnose conditions such as autism spectrum disorder or sensory processing disorder—diagnosis requires assessment by appropriate medical professionals.
