ADHD Support at Aspirations Occupational Therapy — Across NSW

Children with ADHD and attention difficulties often experience challenges with sensory processing and fine motor control, which can impact their ability to focus, organise themselves, and engage in daily activities. At Aspirations Occupational Therapy, our therapists address these underlying difficulties to support better attention and self-regulation. Through sensory processing work, we help children develop better body awareness and manage sensory sensitivities—for example, using weighted blankets or fidget tools during learning tasks to improve focus, or incorporating movement breaks with balance activities like stepping on a wobble cushion. Fine motor interventions strengthen the hand control needed for writing and self-care tasks, reducing frustration that can worsen attention difficulties. Examples include pencil grip exercises, threading activities, and scissor work that build the precision required for school tasks. Aspirations Occupational Therapy recognises that many families access support through NDIS funding (2025–26 pricing structures), and we work collaboratively to ensure therapy goals align with your child's plan. Please note that occupational therapists cannot diagnose ADHD or attention disorders—diagnosis comes from medical professionals—but we can meaningfully support the functional difficulties your child experiences alongside their diagnosis.
