ADHD Support at Grow and Flow — Across QLD

Children with ADHD often experience difficulties with sensory processing and fine motor control, which can significantly impact their learning and daily functioning. At Grow and Flow, our occupational therapists address these overlapping areas through targeted interventions. Sensory processing support helps children regulate their nervous system and improve focus—activities might include using a sensory swing to provide calming vestibular input, working with weighted equipment to enhance body awareness, or engaging in structured movement breaks that support sustained attention during tasks. Handwriting intervention focuses on the motor planning and coordination challenges that frequently accompany attention difficulties, using fine-motor exercises and adaptive pencil grips to build confidence and reduce frustration during writing tasks. Grow and Flow is registered with the NDIS, meaning many families can access these services through their plans under the 2025-26 funding arrangements. Our therapists work collaboratively with families and schools to embed strategies into everyday routines, supporting children to develop the sensory regulation and motor skills needed for better concentration and engagement. While occupational therapists cannot diagnose ADHD, we can identify and address the underlying sensory and motor factors that often co-occur with attention difficulties.
