ADHD Support at Little Stepping Stones — Across VIC

Children with ADHD often experience difficulties with sensory processing, which can affect their ability to focus, regulate emotions, and participate in daily activities. Little Stepping Stones offers sensory processing support to help children develop better awareness of their body and environment, making it easier to concentrate and manage transitions. Our occupational therapists use tailored sensory activities such as weighted blanket work and proprioceptive input exercises (like pushing heavy objects or using resistance bands) to help calm and organise the nervous system. We also incorporate movement-based interventions, including balance activities on therapy balls and obstacle courses, which can improve body awareness and reduce fidgeting during seated tasks. Visual supports and structured routines are integrated into sessions to support attention and executive function. Little Stepping Stones works with families to understand how sensory needs affect your child's behaviour and learning. While occupational therapy cannot diagnose ADHD, we can address the underlying sensory and motor difficulties that often co-occur. Families may be eligible for NDIS funding under the 2025–26 scheme to support these services; we encourage you to discuss funding options during your initial consultation.
