ADHD Support at Rebound Health — Across NSW

Children with ADHD and attention difficulties often struggle with handwriting, which can impact their learning and confidence at school. Rebound Health addresses these challenges through targeted occupational therapy that focuses on the motor skills, coordination, and sustained attention required for writing. Our handwriting interventions may include fine-motor strengthening exercises using tools like theraputty or threading activities, postural work to improve seated stability during writing tasks, and sensory strategies to help children maintain focus. For example, we might use weighted pencils or pencil grips to provide sensory feedback that helps a child concentrate, incorporate movement breaks with activities like wall push-ups before writing sessions, or use visual guides and lined paper with tactile markers to support letter formation. Rebound Health works with families to understand whether NDIS funding may support these services in the 2025-26 financial year, though we recommend checking your child's plan details with the NDIA. Our occupational therapists cannot diagnose ADHD, but we can help improve the functional skills that make writing easier and more enjoyable for your child.
