Autism Support at Transforming Kids OT — Across QLD

Transforming Kids OT supports children with autism spectrum disorder through targeted interventions addressing two key areas: autism-related challenges and sensory processing difficulties. Children with autism often experience sensory sensitivities, motor coordination challenges, and difficulties with daily living skills—areas where occupational therapy can make a meaningful difference. At Transforming Kids OT, our therapists use evidence-based approaches tailored to each child's unique needs. Sensory processing support might include activities such as working with sensory swings or weighted blankets to help regulate responses to environmental stimuli, or structured fine-motor exercises using adaptive utensils and grips to build independence with eating and writing. For children experiencing coordination or planning difficulties, we incorporate visual schedules and step-by-step activity breakdowns to support participation in routines like getting dressed or managing transitions. Many families access these services through NDIS funding (2025-26 pricing arrangements), which can cover occupational therapy support as part of a child's individualised plan. Transforming Kids OT works collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure strategies are consistent across settings. Please note that occupational therapists cannot diagnose autism; however, we can support the skills and participation goals identified by your child's medical team.
