ADHD Support at Transforming Kids OT — Across QLD

Children with ADHD often experience difficulties with sensory processing, which can affect their ability to concentrate, regulate emotions, and participate in daily activities. Transforming Kids OT addresses these challenges through targeted sensory processing interventions designed to help children better understand and respond to sensory information. Our occupational therapists use evidence-based strategies to support attention and self-regulation. For example, we may incorporate sensory motor activities such as weighted equipment use during structured tasks to improve focus and body awareness, or guide children through calming sensory experiences like controlled swinging and tactile exploration to help them transition between activities. Visual supports and environmental modifications are also implemented to reduce sensory overwhelm and support attention during learning tasks. While occupational therapists cannot diagnose ADHD or sensory processing difficulties, Transforming Kids OT can work alongside your child's medical team to address the functional challenges they experience. Many families access these services through NDIS funding (2025-26 pricing arrangements), which can cover occupational therapy support for eligible children. Our goal is to help your child develop strategies that support better focus, emotional regulation, and engagement in school and home environments.
